It's time to trash the Second Amendment

The plan, according to the Washington Post, is to require background check that are... already required.

Frustrated Senate Democrats conceded Thursday that even in the aftermath of several mass shootings, they don't have enough votes right now to push through gun control legislation.

On October 1st, an insane, demonized man walked into Umpqua Community College armed with six guns and on one mission: the persecution and destruction of Christians. This was another massacre, where family and community members will be forced to relive this experience the rest of their lives. The NRA has succeeded in boosting gun sales beyond all reasonable expectations for their arms industry supporters, and whipped those who have been economically exploited by that unholy alliance into believing that their guns are going to be taken away so they had better hoard guns and ammunition today. It makes no sense for a 26-year-old to own 15 guns, unless he is getting ready to go to war.

It is time to reduce access to weapons of mass killings, be they guns on our streets and in our schools or nuclear weapons. In countries all over the world guns are controlled, and there are very few mass shooting, because the citizens care.

The problem with focusing on mental health issues is that the people who most need help are the ones least likely to seek it. Harper-Mercer felt that he was perfectly rational while everybody else around him was not. It is time for Americans to open up their eyes, and start asking questions when an individual has an arsenal of weapons, and they are a college student, or just a regular hard working individual.

It really doesn't have anything to do with weakening the Second Amendment.

Why, then, do so many people insist that the right to gun ownership ought to take precedence over the lives of innocent people? If we don't, nothing will change. Moreover, it sets up an immediate dilemma-namely, how will the government know how many guns a private seller is selling? They would do that by eliminating a provision that allows a gun purchase to go forward if the background check is not completed after three days, something they said happened with the gunman in the Charleston church shooting this year that left nine parishioners dead.

All of these gaping holes need to be closed if America is ever to emerge from this nightmare, but then what to do about the reform-busting senators and congressmen (and Republican presidential candidates) who have no interest in taking action on any of the above?
