Activists against KCR's visit to Amaravathi

Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi do a Bihar in Andhra Pradesh by announcing a hefty financial package for the residuary state when he lays the foundation stone for its new capital, Amaravathi, on Thursday?

About four to five lakh people are expected to attend the function to be held at Uddandarayunipalem village on the banks of river Krishna, Parakala Prabhakar, Advisor (Communications) to the state government, told PTI.

The prime minister along with other dignitaries will perform rituals at 12.35 p.m.to formally lay the foundation stone. These 30 minutes will be crucial for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Water brought from holy places of all the religions will also be used for the foundation stone. Congress bifurcated the state without the new Andhra Pradesh not even having its own capital city, he said.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his Punjab counterpart Parkash Singh Badal, Rosaiah, a few top judges, besides Governor ESL Narasimhan, would attend the event, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said.

He also disapproved of Opposition Leader and YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's announcement that he need not be invited for the event and that he would not attend. He wrote an open letter to Naidu, asking him not to invite him. "The cops lose their sleep to ensure that people have a sound sleep", Naidu said on the Police Commemoration Day here.

Requested to describe why his investment appeal efforts happen to be targeted on Singapore, Japan and China, despite the slowdown of these companies, the Main Minister mentioned this was a strategic scheme: he seeks relationship with Singapore because he admires that city-state's work ethos and adherence to best practices; Asia and China are equally dealing with a recession and therefore needed to purchase encouraging spots to cultivate out of it, and every experienced investible surpluses and technical weight.

Singapore government agencies have prepared the master plans for the three-layered capital - seed capital, capital city and capital region. He has been pressing for special category status to undone the "injustice" done to the state with the bifurcation. Meanwhile, the opposition parties are planning to carry out several protests during Modi's visit regarding the centre's U-turn on special status to AP.

AP citizens are eagerly awaiting Modi's sanctions to the state.
