Nextbit Robin cloud-focused phone available for pre-order

The Nextbit Robin smartphone pre-order price is set at $399, which is a bit higher than the Kickstarter price, but reasonable for what you're getting under the hood. While it may not be for everyone, a number of individuals do find the idea to be quite brilliant, which is why Nextbit's Kickstarter campaign was a huge success, raking in way more ($1.3 billion) than their goal. It's called a cloud phone as it also comes with 100GB cloud storage account for each user. The phone takes advantage of that cloud storage by automatically putting apps and content that you don't often use in the cloud and keeping your frequently used content stored on your phone. The Snapdragon 808 SoC is under the hood, including a hexa-core CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. It has already proven its mettle there and now it will be trying out its luck on BackerKit to raise a few extra money and give others a chance to pre-order the smartphone, but without the Kickstarter rewards attached. Pre-order for the HERE.

Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, LTE support, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and a USB Type-C port. On the software front, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. The Robin also packs a pair of front-facing speakers. This ambition culminated in the Nextbit Robin, a new mid-range Android smartphone with a difference. Another good news is the fact that the Robin comes with an unlocked bootloader by default, allowing you to flash custom ROMs on the smartphone without having to worry about voiding your warranty.

Speaking of which, if you chose to pre-order the Robin, then you should know that pre-orders will start to ship beginning February, 2016. The full-HD 5.2-inch polycarbonate phone, available in Mint or Midnight, stands out notably in the stale land of black, silver, and gold metallic smartphones. A quick charger, screen protector, vinyl mascot, and the smartphone are also available.
