Apple Watch 2 rumor roundup: Concept design, release date speculations revealed

Fresh leaks suggest the Apple Watch 2 will be a game changer and will arrive with new sensors, chips and features that will make it much more versatile than its predecessor and also help ward off the competition from other smartwatches offered by LG, Huawei and Samsung.

Other improvements we can expect for the Apple Watch 2 are better battery life, speaker improvements and more RAM.

That's higher-res than the Apple Watch, but it actually appears a smidge less sharp because the Huawei has a PenTile display: a less even pixel layout that reduces how sharp a screen looks. While the in-box insert for the Huawei Watch will state that the device is warranted for 12 months, you now need only to register the device at the company's website to add yet another year to the period. Apple is also expected to make the next-generation Apple Watch more suitable for sports and outdoor activities by raising its IPX7 waterproof standard, which now protects the wearable from a "short duration of water immersion" at a depth of about one meter, to an IP67 rating. You see, when you use the always-on mode, the watch face switches to a low-power mode after not being used for a while, making the watch face background black and nixing all the silly visual fluff in these faces.

Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, added, "We estimate Apple Watch shipped 4.5 million units and captured a dominant 74 percent smartwatch marketshare worldwide in Q3 2015".

I spent the last few weeks using these two watches side by side - yes, I did on occasion wear two smartwatches at the same time, though I didn't enjoy it. (OK, maybe I did a little.) After weeks of use, some clear strengths and weaknesses emerged for the Huawei Watch and Apple Watch.
