Bajaj Auto October sales down 9%

Mumbai: Bajaj Auto Ltd's October sales, including exports, declined 9% to 352,822 units over a year ago, the company said in a statement on 2 November. Sensex was down 89.77 points at 26,567.06.

Shares of India's top carmakers - Maruti, M&M and Tata Motors - bounced on the bourses in Monday's trade after reporting robust sales volumes for October. The scrip opened at Rs 2,530 and had touched a high and low of Rs 2,555 and 2,422.65, respectively, in trade so far.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 30 October 2015, surging 10.38% compared with Sensex's 1.92% rise.

Bajaj Auto's motorcycles sales fell 8% to 3.08 lakh units in October 2015 over October 2014.

Exports of company's commercial vehicles, which included the Qute quadricycle, also went down 10% to 44,089 units. The company's total exports out of the above stood at 1,27,645 units, a loss of 19% as compared to 1,58,547 units sold in the corresponding month past year.
