General Raheel expressed full confidence in Pakistan's nuclear security

While interacting with officers and troops, he expressed that the nuclear security is a sacred responsibility and that, "I am glad to see that it has instilled as a culture and the progress made in the recent past was praiseworthy".

The Prime Minister also emphasised that the time-tested friendship between the two countries is based on strong mutual trust, cooperation and convergence of views on regional and global issues.

Speaking on the occasion General Changlong said, "The mutually supportive cooperation in the field of defence is a critical factor in maintaining peace and stability in the region".

Highlighting Pak-China defence and security cooperation, Fan said, "China and Pakistan are the best iron brothers, good friends and strategic partners".

Earlier on Friday, Changlong met army chief General Raheel Sharif and pledged that Beijing looked forward to ensure proper management and security of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

In a letter to President Obama, the foundation expressed "serious concerns" about the human rights violations committees by Pakistan army and its subsidiary agencies, in action against rise of religious extremism and providing continued support to extremist terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba headed by Hafez Saeed to expand their network in Sindh province of Pakistan.

Fan also said he hopes to engage in in-depth discussions with the leaders of Pakistan and the Pakistani Armed Forces on relations between the two countries and their armed forces, and other issues of common interest.

He said CPEC is equally beneficial to both China and Pakistan.
