Doctor Who: Christmas Special to Get Cinema Release in US

Executive producer Steven said: "Another Christmas, another special for Doctor Who - and what could be more special than the return of Alex Kingston as Professor River Song?" BBC America clarified that, "Tickets for the 2015 Doctor Who Christmas Special can be purchased online beginning Friday, November 13, 2015 by visiting Fathom Events, or participating theater box offices".

Doctor Who's Christmas Day special will be screened in USA cinemas for the first time ever.

Capaldi, Moffat, writer Mark Gatiss, Missy actress Michelle Gomez and Ingrid Oliver - who portrays fan favourite character Osgood - will all be attending the Doctor Who Festival this weekend. The Doctor Who Christmas Special will feature the first meeting of Doctor Who and his wife, who is played by Kingston.

Of course she's a veteran of Doctor Who, she's been involved with it longer than I have so it was quite scary from that point of view.

One slight damper on the festivities is that Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald will have left the show just a few weeks prior, and many fans speculate that she will be the first companion of the modern series to die.

The 57-year-old actor was speaking at the ongoing Doctor Who Festival at the Exhibition Center of London.

"We went to the BBC yesterday to talk about the type of person we might be looking at", Moffat revealed. "So I'm just expressing my opinion about it".

"Doctor Who" has featured a huge number of high-profile guest appearances over the years, with stars including Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Sir Ian McKellen, John Hurt, Kylie Minogue and Derek Jacobi all turning up on the show.

"My life has become more delightful because I get to meet many more interesting people and obviously I'm much more visible than a couple of years ago. Maybe it's because it keeps the monsters away".
