Chan Group Stage Draw

Nigeria's Home-based Eagles have been drawn in Group C of the 2016 Orange/CAF Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) to be hosted by Rwanda after the draws were conducted in Kigali yesterday.

Zambia are in Gropup D alongside Mali, Uganda and trans-Zambezi neighbors Zimbabwe.

The tournament is designed for locally based African footballers playing in their domestic leagues.

Having missed out on the first two editions, Nigeria finished as Bronze medallists in her maiden participation in the tournament made exclusively for players plying their trade in their respective home countries.

A new victor will be crowned in 2016 after defending champions Libya failed to qualify for the finals.

The finals will take place from 16 January to 7 February 2016 in Rwanda.

According to the draws, Rwanda are in Pool A alongside Gabon, Morocco and Cote d'Ivoire.

The Super Eagles will play their all their group games at the Stade Regional de Nyamirambo in the Rwandan capital, Kigali.

The distribution into the Pots were decided on the basis of a ranking taking into consideration the results of the various teams at the final tournament of the three previous editions of the CHAN - 2009, 2011 and 2014.

Hosts Rwanda will play Gabon, Morocco and Cote d'Ivoire in Group A, to be based at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.
