HTC One M9s introduced in Taiwan; features 5-inch display, 2TB expandable

Speaking about the specs, the HTC One M9s flaunts a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) IPS display. Amid declining sales and revenue and organizational changes, the company's One M9 flagship barely made a ripple just a few years after the One series was touted as a legitimate challenger to the Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone lines.

This does not come as a surprise, because HTC is rumored to take interest in other branches of the technologic department, starting to focus on wearable devices and VR headsets. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM, which is a bit of a disappointment when we consider the fact that a lot of new mid-range Android smartphones are being launched with 3GB of RAM at a much lower price point.

The 16GB of internal storage is disappointing, but there is a microSD slot for flexibility, along with a 2840mAh battery. On the front you will find the infamous 4MP UltraPixel unit with an f/2.0 aperture 26.8mm equivalent lens. HTC One M9s sports 13MP primary camera with LED flash, autofocus, BSI sensor and optical image stabalization and is covered by saphhire glass, like Apple's new iPhones.

Connectivity-wise, the One M9s offers a wide range of options, including 4G TLE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), microUSB 2.0 and Global Positioning System with AGPS, GLONASS and Beidou. Oddly enough, at 158g it weighs a gram more.

The HTC One M9s is now available for pre-order in Taiwan and has been priced at TWD 12,900, which is about $390.

First of all, the One M9s will go on sale in Taiwan on November 20 for $390 outright, GSMDome reports.

When compared to its predecessor, the HTC One A9, the X9 seems to borrow from its competitor's products, using the design of the IPhone 6 and the glass covered camera of the Google Nexus 6P, among other similarities.
