Bill Cosby Won't Be Deposed in Janice Dickinson's Defamation Lawsuit, For Now

The amended suit is expected to be filed Friday.

Cosby's lawyers were expected to file a response Friday, November 13, 2015, to a defamation lawsuit filed past year in federal court in MA.

Friday's development comes after a New Hampshire woman filed a separate defamation lawsuit against Cosby earlier this week in federal court in Springfield, Mass., where the seven women's lawsuit is also playing out.

Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, Louisa Moritz and Angela Leslie join three women already named in the civil suit -Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, and Linda Traitz.

All four women said that after they came forward with their stories of abuse, Cosby's representatives publicly branded them as liars and their comments were labeled as "absurdity".

Cosby in the past has denied allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted women. On Tuesday, Kristina Ruehli sued Cosby for defamation, after he called her a liar for saying he raped her in 1965.

On that occasion she says Cosby turned all the lights off and forced her to touch his genitals, then attacked her again at his brownstone apartment in NY after she believes he slipped drugs into a glass of wine she gave him. "I am a truth-teller". According to her lawsuit, Cosby later contacted her directly and invited her to Las Vegas to "audition" by acting intoxicated. In October, Cosby was deposed in a lawsuit filed by another accuser, Judy Huth, who says she was sexually assaulted by the comedian in the '70s when she was only 15.

'This is their opportunity to have their day in court and to attempt to restore their good name and reputation'. However, the deposition was put on hold by a court Thursday following an appeal by Cosby's lawyers. Another Cosby attorney, Monique Pressley, did not respond to a request for comment. After that date, Cosby's team shut down when they saw denial statements opened them up to defamation lawsuits, Cammarata said.
