Sheena Bora murder case: My father is innocent, says Rahul Mukerjea

It was on the basis of Rahul's evidence that CBI arrested Peter.

It also states that Rahul met Sheena at Peter's house and their friendship grew into love.

The accused poured petrol on Sheena's body and set it on fire and dumped her half-burnt remains in the thick bushes from where these were found on May 23, 2012, by a local villager.

Talking to media persons outside the CBI office, he said, 'Sheena was blackmailing Indrani and she wanted 3BHK flat in Mumbai.

He said the charges levelled against his father in Sheena Bora case are "outrageous", and said nothing to do with the murder of Sheena.

A CBI source, requesting anonymity, said, "Rahul Mukerjea is an important link in the murder of Sheena Bora as he has provided several important materials to the investigators against the accused in the case".

An official said that CBI questioned Rahul on various claims made by Peter in his defence.

The investigating agency is also probing allegations that a financial dispute was at the heart of the case, especially a transaction that involved Rs. 1,300 crore.

"Indrani had purchased a flat for Sheena in Delhi through a gift deed, but she later terminated it after learning about Sheena's affair with Rahul".

Sheena Bora was the biological daughter of Indrani from her first marriage Indrani had introduced Sheena as her sister to Peter and others.

In this context, the charge sheet added, "she deliberate a conspiracy with Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai to kill Sheena Bora". "Peter played an active and crucial role in the case", stated the 1000-page CBI charge sheet.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), according to highly placed sources, is looking into all banking transactions of former media baron Peter Mukerjea, now in its custody, that were carried out in France and the United Kingdom.

The CBI said that while it had earlier booked Peter Mukherjea under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he had also been additionally charged under Sections 302 and 364, and would be prosecuted accordingly.

The charge sheet says Indrani employed her boy Mekhail to stress his sibling stating she'd be refused any share within their home Indrani's neighborhood, in Guwahati.

Though Indrani's lawyer Gunjan Mangla could not be contacted, her former husband and accused Sanjeev Khanna's lawyer Shreyansh Mithare said he is yet seen the charge sheet. The case was committed to the Sessions Court where it will be heard on December 3.
