Tesla releases cost of Model X SUV

Standard features include rear Falcon Wing doors, all-wheel-drive, parking sensors, blind spot and side collision warnings, automatic keyless entry, GPS-enabled Homelink, and maps and navigation with real-time traffic updates.

General production of the 70D Model X has not yet begun, but is expected to get underway in the first quarter of 2016 with delivery dates listed on Tesla's site for mid-to-late 2016.

"In addition to the Tesla store in Chinook Centre, we will be opening a new service and delivery centre in Calgary in the coming months", he said. The vehicle steers, corners, and rides with a competence that seems perfected over decades of focused suspension development rather than a few short years as a Silicon Valley startup.

The Model X is capable of driving for 250 miles between charges, slightly less than the Model S, although its interior capacity is larger and its unique door design is meant to offer the utility of a minivan.

Tesla Motors has announced that its highly-anticipated and long-delayed Model X electric crossover vehicle will have a base price of $80,000. "Lesser" 90D Model Xs follow by mid-year, with 70D deliveries before 2017.

The electric SUV, which was introduced in September, is now available in three battery options - 70D, 90D and P90D - and starts at $80,000 for the 70D model, the lower-end version of the vehicle.

The federal tax incentives for which the Model X SUV is eligible can go up to $7,500. It also gives the company momentum going into its first full year of Model X production, he said. The company has started informing pre-order customers that they can no go to the Tesla website to customize their Model X to their hearts content. And along with that is information on how much that will all cost you. So if you want one soon, be prepared to pony up at least $115,500.

The P90D version of the SUV packs 568kW (762hp), which propels it from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds. The seven seat configuration will add $4,000 extra to the base price.

Tesla's contraversial Autopilot feature will set you back $2,500, which is not too bad once the bugs are ironed out. On the P90D the benchmark speed can actually be achieved in 3.2 seconds with the Ludicrous mode switched on.
