In an indication to what can be expected on the first day of the winter session, Sharad Yadav, chief of Janata Dal (United), tweeted, "We will raise the issues of love jihad to "ghar wapsi" and increasing intolerance during the course of discussion on commitment towards Constitution".

CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury said Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari had admitted a motion to discuss rising incidents of religious intolerance in the country. "I am happy that all political parties presented a positive outlook for dialogue and debate".

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his 7, Race Course Road residence, was also attended by party veteran L.K. Advani, BJP President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Naidu and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj along with other leaders. "Our Constitution is a ray of hope that symbolises harmony, opportunity, people's participation and equality", he said."I, am confident, we all MPs will leave no stone unturned to match up to expectations of people", the Prime Minister said.

The government is also trying to reach out to opposition for unanimity on GST bill, even as the Congress said it had an open mind on the contentious bill.

While opposition wishes a discussion on the matter of forbearance, administration has clarified that it is eager to talk about every topic lifted on the floor of the House.

Referring to Constitution Day being observed on November 26 to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this date in 1949, he said awareness about the Constitution should increase across India. The coincidence is inspiring. He said that his party will give a notice to discuss the "intolerance" issue before Parliament.

"The members agreed to coordinate with opposition parties as well to execute maximum work during the session", the minister added. H further said that our Constitution is a ray of hope.

The session will end on December 23.
