Andhra MP booked for slapping Air India official

A criminal case has been registered against a YSR Congress MP from Andhra Pradesh and an investigation is underway. Rajasekhar said he was assaulted after he objected to the language used by the lawmaker. The MP asked the Station Manager to allow him and his relatives to board the flight.

The incident occurred yesterday when Reddy reached the Tirupati airport about 20 to 25 minutes before flight's departure time with some of his relatives to board a flight to Delhi. Report is coming in that a person discharging his duty has been manhandled.

The MP later reportedly tried to pacify the Air India employee. The manager there informed the station manager about it. He then came to the MP and said he can’t do anything about it.

He later "shouted" at the manager before slapping him, police said, based on a complaint lodged by the official. Since the boarding counters for domestic flights close at least 45 minutes before departure time, the Station Manager expressing his inability to do so and denied accommodation.

Later the MP threatened and abused the station manager before he slapped him at the airport in front of the public.

"We don't want to witch hunt any one, law should be allowed to take its own course". Mithun Reddy had come to the airport to see of his party supremo YS Jagan, on Thursday, who had visited the rain-hit areas in Nellore district.
