United Kingdom 24 Louisville 38 4th Quarter

Louisville freshman QB Lamar Jackson completed 8-of-21 passes for 130 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 38-24 win over Kentucky.

Kentucky quarterback Drew Barker throws downfield to a receiver during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Louisville, Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in Lexington, Ky.

Kentucky would go three and out once again, only to see UL once again run through D.J. Eliot's defense with a 4-play drive ending in a quasi-prayer hail mary to James Quick who out worked the UK DB. United Kingdom was also able to convert on two key third downs to help keep the drive alive.

UofL went three-and-out on its next possession, but picked up where it left off after that.

Boom Williams ran seven yards on first down and six on second down, the latter for a touchdown that lifted the hosts to a 14-0 lead midway through the quarter. "That was four opportunities to put the game away, and United Kingdom would get only one scoring opportunity the remainder of the game".

"We planned on the other quarterback just throwing the ball a lot and (Jackson) came in and that was something we hadn't planned for", Forrest said".

Jackson was magnificent in leading the Louisville comeback.

Kentucky could not muster anything once again and after another deep in their own territory the Cardinals took over DEEP in United Kingdom territory and ended up scoring wth you guessed it, a Lamar Jackson run to take the lead 38-24.

Stoops wouldn't address the subject of his staff. It's not really fair to judge UK's play-calling on the second half of Saturday's game.

Trailing 24-7 at halftime, the Cardinals came out the second half and built momentum against a Kentucky team that froze up with victory apparently at hand. Unfortunately for the Cats, there was another half to play. Miles Butler kicks a 20 yard field goal. Jackson replaced Kyle Bolin at quarterback and rallied Louisville, accounting for 171 yards in the third quarter alone.

On Louisville's opening drive, Bolin throws an interceptioin that is returned 35 yards that sets up Kentucky on the 14 yard line.

Kentucky doesn't have an offensive identity, writes Mark Story of the Herald-Leader.

United Kingdom offense was unable to do anything and was held to just 19 yards in the third quarter. United Kingdom leads 21-7 with 3:21 to go in the first quarter. Drew Barker hung in on a collapsing pocket with unexpected poise and hit Juice Johnson across midfield for a huge gain and momentum builder. United Kingdom leads 24-10.

"We had a discussion at that point". "We felt like he was a fraction off". He's 182 yards short of the 1,000 mark on the season, so it would take a heckuva game against a relatively strong Louisville run defense, but if Williams could get there it would be pretty impressive given how much the passing game has struggled here. A win would have made the Cats bowl-eligible for the first time since 2010.
