Microsoft Sends Carolers To Sing Outside Of Apple's Iconic New York City

The advertisement closes with the picture of Apple and Microsoft workers embracing and the words, "spread amicability".

In a new ad - shot November 16, but just released Tuesday - with holiday carols. - Screen grab from YouTubeNEW YORK, Dec 2 - Is this the millennial version of the famous World War 1 Christmas truce game between Germany and Britain?

Microsoft employees wearing the company's sweater, carrying candles walk towards the Apple store, singing "Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me". Their dulcet tones were enough to lure some Apple employees outside, who refrained from acting like jerks about the whole publicity ploy (there were cameras on-hand after all). "Joined by a local NYC children's youth choir, they share a message of peace and harmony with their neighbor down the street", Microsoft says in the description of the video.

While Microsoft often find its selves as the target of Internet jeers, comments on the YouTube page are positive, even from Apple fans. Microsoft and Apple have enjoyed a colored history over the years, acting as both bitter enemies and the BFFs as their fortunes have waxed and waned.
