Syria crisis: Massive Russian air strikes on 'IS targets'

Also, overnight to October 7, the Caspian Flotilla ships delivered a massive strike on the IS objectives in Syria, using Kalibr NK shipborne cruise missiles.

At least 36 people were killed in air strikes by Russian and Syrian jets on Islamic State-controlled Deir Ezzor province, a monitor said, describing them as the heaviest in the region since the start of the war.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that Russian warplanes conducted air raids in the Idlib, Hama and Lattakia provinces on Friday.

The BBC's Steve Rosenberg in Moscow says that in the Russian Defence Ministry soldiers can be seen writing messages on the bombs before loading them onto the aircraft - phrases like: "This is revenge for our dead" and "This is for Paris".

Russian Federation began launching missiles and long-range bombers from warships in the Caspian last month.

It has previously targeted oil installations under the control of Islamic State and said it aimed to cut the group's main revenue stream.

The Russian Minister said the Caspian fleet has fired 18 cruise missiles on terrorist locations in Raqqa, Idleb, Aleppo and other provinces.

Russian Federation hit over 200 targets on the same day President Vladimir Putin confirmed the Islamic State bomb brought down the plane, with oil trucks and refineries among the targets.

Main efforts were concentrated on undermining the finance and economic capacity of the IS, which would prevent daily supplies of 60,000 tons of oil worth 1.5 million US dollars flowing to the black market, the statement added.

Russian Federation have tweeted a picture of a missile which they plan to fire at Isis with "That's for Paris" written on the side.

After the carnage in Paris which claimed the lives of 130 people Putin and French President Francois Hollande agreed to "ensure closer contact and coordination" in their countries' operations in Syria.

This year Syrian government forces have reclaimed portions of that province, about 300 miles northeast of Damascus, the capital city of Syria.

The Russian strongman has ordered his military not to let up in their raids as ISIS continues to be degraded by a sustained aerial bombardment.

"Under the Russian president's decree, the General Staff is working out joint anti-terrorism operations with the French Navy".

Flights operating out of Beirut airport will continue unaffected despite a notice of planned Russian naval drills in the Mediterranean, airport official Ibrahim Abu Alioun said Friday.
