Joey Martin Feek sets new goal

In a , Rory Feek shares the sweet reaction he and his wife had to the surprising news.

Although Joey, 40, "can no longer get out of bed" as she copes with terminal cancer under hospice care at her childhood home in Alexandria, Indiana, the community has rallied to make this year a "very special Christmas". The song had no commercial success and its only video component is something the married couple put together to rejoice the birth of their daughter, Indiana. Rory has been keeping fans updated as best he can, and recent social media updates and blog posts have indicated that Joey is still praying and fighting.

However, on Monday, the country group/married couple received some much needed good news after it was announced that their song If I Need You received a Grammy nomination.

The lyrics of the song they were nominated for could not be more appropriate for the duo's relationship. In the middle of the song though, as I was being careful not to step on her toes - she stopped and looked up at me and said, "How about if I lead?". "God is so good", he writes. Therefore, with the help of her husband and family, Joey made the most hard decision of her life - to stop treatment. "We recorded it just after she was recovering from her first big surgery in Chicago. And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say...Enough", Rory wrote.

A few days ago, on the last day Joey walked, I took her in my arms in the living room and once more put her hand in mine and we danced.

"We moved Joey and us to a bigger house here this past Sunday", Rory continues in his Christmas blog.
