Lehigh weighs what to do with players charged in crime

He also admitted to punching holes in the walls of the house, WFMZ reported.

Seven football players at Lehigh University are charged in a break-in and assault that officials say was driven by revenge. Githens admitted he broke into the home in retribution for an assault of his fraternity president, but admitted he had gone to the wrong home and attacked the wrong person, according to police.

They told police the men kicked in the doors as they slept and one suffered a concussion and a busted lip and was treated at St. Luke's University Hospital after he was punched in the face.

Brian Githens, 20, was charged in November with felony burglary, misdemeanor simple assault and criminal mischief, a summary offense, court records indicated.

Yesterday, six other players for the FCS Mountain Hawks were arraigned, all on felony counts of criminal trespass.

Six athletes on the team were charged in the incident: Jacob Scott (19), Maxwell Frankel (18), Dylan J. Parsons (20), and Noah Scott Robb (21), Michael D. Gies (19) and Mark D. Walker (19), per the report.

Northampton County Assistant District Attorney James Augustine said Wednesday that he was reviewing the criminal cases for the "gaggle" of students involved and hoped to reach a possible resolution that would avoid a trial.

A lawyer for Githens said his client is cooperating and they will "ultimately resolve this".

The players' preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 30. Parsons and Walker did not waive their Miranda rights and admit to going into the home, but the other players identified everyone who entered the home, according to court records.
