The Microsoft Lumia 550 is Now Available for $139

Tech lovers have reason to rejoice now.

Microsoft officially rolls out the Lumia 550, a $139 Windows 10 smartphone. It is being termed as the company's most affordable 4G LTE phone.

Lumia 540 gets a glossy  and if you look at the colors on offer; Cyan, Orange etc. then expect the phone to stand out in the crowd.

During this year, Microsoft made several announcements related to Windows 10 smartphones, but is only now that they have officially launched the cheapest phone. In 2019, those figures will climb to 82.6 percent of the market and over 1.5 billion units.

Since the device is being coming from Microsoft, there is not a lot to talk about when it comes to the hardware specifications of its affordable smart phone category.

In the budget-friendly device category, Lumia 550 is not the cheapest one. The Windows 10 smartphone sports a 4.7-inch LCD screen carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution display, with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 210 processor under the hood. It only has 8GB of internal storage, but this can be expanded up to 200GB via the use of a microSD card.

Even though Windows 10 is the future of computing, there are still some viable options worth considering the Lumia 950 smartphone. Its predecessor, the Lumia 1020 also reportedly earned positive feedbacks for its camera despite the unusual design.

The 550 version supports a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera.

According to GSM Arena, the new Microsoft Lumia's battery is listed at 2,100mAh, and the whole package measures 136.1 x 67.8 x 9.9mm. Today's report calls the cancelled device a carryover from Microsoft's purchase of Nokia Devices and Services.
