AIADMK worker's 'lungi' catches fire during protest against Vijayakanth

DMDK Supremo Vijayakanth asked his party men to remove a portrait of Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Ms.J.Jayalalitha from a bus shelter while addressing a demonstration, here yesterday.

Chennai Press Club has condemned Vijayakanth for this alleged misbehaviour with journalists and has asked him to openly apologise for continuously behaving in an uncivilised manner with them. "The cadres were not able to see their leader as a flex board of Vijayakanth was between them and him". After the DMDK members had removed Jayalalithaa photo, AIADMK cadres in several districts started protesting against Vijyakanth and burnt his effigies. Though calm for a moment, he suddenly flared up and shouted at them if they dared to ask the same question to AIADMK chief Jayalalitha.

"AIADMK is a very disciplined people's movement".

Her party worked by the ideals of duty, dignity and discipline, as laid out by Dravidian veteran CN Annadurai and party founder MG Ramachandran, and supporters should follow these as their "life-breath", she said.

What was amusing, however, was the way in which the protesters quickly forgot the mishap and enthusiastically resumed beating the effigy, which was now burning. "Law would take its own course on this".
