Natalie Cole, Grammy Winning Singer, Has Died

Chart-topping R&B singer Natalie Cole, who followed her famous father in the music business with hits like "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) and "", died at age 65".

Her 1991 tribute album to her father was called "Unforgettable... with Love".

The famed musician and daughter of star Nat King Cole reportedly passed away in a Los Angeles hospital after cancelling a series of live tour dates due to illness recently. This led her to be offered a recording contract, and her debut album, 1975's Inseparable, won two Grammys.

In February of 2008 she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. CNN reported that Cole attributed her Hepatitis to cocaine and heroin use. It featured reworked versions of some of her father's best-known songs.

Rev. Jesse Jackson was among the first celebrities to tweet in Cole's memory, following the news of her death.

After high school, she enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to major in child psychology.

Cole was married 3 times and has a son, Robert Adam "Robbie" Yancy, 38.
