Polaroid Snap+ is an instant camera for a digital generation

Polaroid has unveiled the next generation instant print camera at CES 2016 called the Snap+. At the CES show, it has announced two unlocked smartphones namely Polaroid Snap and Polaroid Power smartphones.

It is worth noting, though, that Polaroid was not the one that manufactured the two new handsets. List prices range from $130 to $180, depending on display size.

The Polaroid Snap+ features a number of upgrades on the original model, the most visible of which is the addition of a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, allowing the user to frame shots and navigate the camera's menu. It runs on a quad-core processor and will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The chip may be unknown, but the smartphone comes with a generous 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera.

On the other hand, the Polaroid Power features a 6-inch full-HD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The Polaroid Power has an Octa-Core 64-bit processor. The main camera is at 13MP as well but the front-facing one is at 8MP. The smartphone is power-packed by a 3000mAh battery that completes the package. With digital cameras threatening the biggest USP of Polaroid's business, the company had filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection back in 2001.

The CEO of Polaroid, Scott W. Hardy said, "Our new smartphone line complements a family of Polaroid products that embody what the brand is most well-known for; offering consumers fun and affordable ways to instantly capture and share memories with their friends and family".

Now we get to the Polaroid Snap, which will be offered through EVINE Live from February.

With a Polaroid unlocked smartphone, users can upgrade or replace broken devices without pricey contracts and have the flexibility of choosing the network and plan they want without any commitment, said the company.

As mentioned, Polaroid Snap will be coming in three different display sizes.

For editing, or larger prints, you can connect the camera via Bluetooth to Polaroid's print app on iOS and Android, where you can edit the pictures or print from other devices.
