Demi Lovato Explains 'Confident' Track "Father", A Musical Tribute

The news comes as Demi Lovato reportedly ditched Adam Lambert for Nick Jonas ahead of her upcoming world tour. While Demi is now the confident, cool-for-the-summer girl we all know and love, she wasn't always the strong woman she is today. With lyrics such as, "I won't back down, knuckles out, guard in my mouth", it seems as if the singer really is ready to battle it out with anyone who would attempt to bring her down.

The video for Waitin' For You is definitely a change of pace from previous videos released off of the Confident album.

The most emotional and raw song off the album is the closing song, "Father". She believed that however different or not ideal her relationship may be with her dad, he was still her father. Lovato's most recent radio hit asks listeners, "What's wrong with being confident?" and features a brass backing that gives the song an upbeat melody.

The song is one on the album that would have sounded much better as a solo.

Instead of surrendering to the far less groundbreaking mainstream declarations of bi-curiosity, rebellious style transformations and scandalous apparel, perhaps Lovato would better benefit from sticking to what makes her unique among the current pop lineup - her voice.

"Waitin' For You" is another collaboration on "Confident" that features Long Island native Sirah.

'For this album, I'm making music that feels right to me, ' she stated.

She didn't break her incredible vocals when she made eye contact with one of the dancer's tight pants. Not only that, but Lovato has also been very open about her struggles and triumphs, therefore it should come as no surprise that her album would offer up tracks with a lot of meaning and depth. Azalea has taken some slack from the public recently from rap fans saying the singer thinks a little too highly of herself.
