Destiny Celebrates Halloween with Festival of the Lost

Destiny fans can also pick up a special new item, the mask, which can be displayed in social spaces by interested Guardians and are required to access a few of the quests associated with Festival of the Lost. The Festival runs from today, October 26, through November. 9, so you’ve got a solid 14 days to grab as many of these limited edition treats as humanly possible. Unfortunately for last-gen players, one of those emotes won't be available on Xbox 360 and PS3. But even if the thought of shelling out real cash for seasonal, digital trifles makes your skin crawl, the Festival of the Lost has plenty for you to do. This will be available as a live event for all owners of Destiny: The Taken King. It will include Quests, new items, gear, and the Eververse Trading Co. items.

What is not revealed is if the items you purchased using the microtransactions will be kept after the event.

Masks can be either of Rare of Legendary quality but be careful, only Legendary masks will remain after the Festival of the Lost concludes.

The move is clearly created to show how Destiny can survive in the future using a microtransaction business model, which encourages players to get a range of cosmetic tweaks for their characters. Is it just a necessary evil? Let us know your view on the matter below.
