Google Collaborating With PM Modi Government To Bring Internet In India

Internet giant Google has been conducting experiments to find a solution to the world's connectivity and after all years of hard work they found "Balloon", inputs from PTI.

Initially, Google may with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) for testing the technology by using broadband spectrum in 2.6 Ghz band and internet giant may operate as the technology service provider and not like an internet service provider.

Project Loon, for those who are not yet familiar with the concept, is a project developed by Google X with the mission of providing Internet access to rural and remote areas. That's why we're pleased to announce that Indonesia's top three mobile network operators - Indosat, Telkomsel and XL Axiata - have agreed to begin testing Project Loon balloon-powered Internet over Indonesia in 2016. As the technology can directly transmit signals on 4G mobile phones it has the potential to replace mobile towers.

Google, beneath its Project Loon, is utilizing massive balloons floating at a peak of 20-kilometres above Earth floor for transmission of internet providers. The results of the pilot test are used to improve the technology in preparation for the next stages of the project.

To use the new technology, it will join hands with telecom companies to share spectrum so that people will be able to access the Internet everywhere directly.

While providing connectivity atop Balloons may seem a bit shaky on the surface, the technology is sound enough and has already been tested in other parts of the globe, including New Zealand, The United States and Brazil.

And to power electronic equipment in the balloon throughout the day, Google will use solar as well as wind energy. It will identify the locations for the trials of the service and also act as a mediator for communication and coordination among various Government departments and agencies.
