Mario Maker has new costumes and checkpoints

The new update adds several new features as well as the ability to include checkpoints in courses, one of the features that fans requested more since the release of the game. Sawada's "Super Mario Maker" project is part of an ongoing collaboration with the game's developer and publisher Nintendo.

Super Mario Maker owners can unlock the new mystery mushrooms by clearing each sprite's respective event courses, which are available now. Updates, on the other hand, are intended for the gameplay, as well as for the game's editing features. I don't own a Wii U or the game myself (though they're at the top of my holiday wishlist), so I'm living vicariously through these streamers and their turmoil.

Update version 1.20 brings with it the addition of Event Courses, which have been added to the game's new Course World hub. The "Mario-kun" character is specially designed based on its 2D 8-bit counterpart.

"Super Mario Maker" levels created by Sawada will be available starting November 6. Get this: when you knock on a door in Mario Maker's course editor, that door will be opened and shut by skinny Mario, ().
