Return of the Haye-maker??

David Haye's upcoming opponent Mark de Mori warns the Hayemaker that his strength has "gone to another level" over the last two years.

But the Hayemaker's sights are set beyond January 16 towards the world title.

Haye is returning to "fulfill his potential" after failing to unify the heavyweight division three years ago.

With offers to fight the likes of Tony Bellew, Martin Rogan, Malik Scott and Mark de Mori, Haye certainly has the option to prove his ability well before stepping into the ring with the current title-holder - but his desperation to move straight back to the top has left many wondering whether this is more about publicity than sporting ambition.

Haye, 35, last fought in July 2012 when he beat compatriot Dereck Chisora, but withdrew from proposed bouts against Manuel Charr and Tyson Fury the following year due to injury. I gave him only a one-in-20 shot of doing that.

Haye, formerly with Adam Booth, now has a new trainer in Shane McGuigan, the son of Barry McGuigan, who also works with super-bantamweight world champion Carl Frampton. I've felt his power and believe I can handle it. Joshua is exciting and if he gets to the other champion, Deontay Wilder, before I do then a fight between us would be even more huge.

Despite becoming a hero when defeating Russian giant Nikolai Valuev in 2009 and following it up with an impressive stopping win over "The Quiet Man" John Ruiz, it all started to go wrong for Haye in the months after that.

"There were some low times, but I travelled the world and had the best time I could".

Haye recently closed his gym in Vauxhall and sold his ring on eBay for £65,700 to focus on his comeback, having seen three previous attempts to return thwarted by injury.

Haye and de Mori ready for action.

He says: 'I've always wanted the chance to fight Klitschko again.

Well, at least with the Haye fight, De Mori is finally cutting his teeth against his first top tier guy if you want to call Haye a top tier fighter.
