Malad gangrape: Rapists circulated the 12-minute clip of incident among

The Mumbai Police have arrested four school students for allegedly gangrening a girl and posting her video on WhatsApp.

The four accused, who too are 15-year-old, raped the girl repeatedly and recorded the incident in their mobile phone.

The girl didn't lodge a formal complaint, as she was afraid that the picture would get circulated on the internet. "Then they threatened to put the video out and blackmailed her not to report the matter to the police or anybody else", said inspector Sabhor. "We took the four boys into custody yesterday and have sent them to Dongri remand home", Sandbhor said. The boys made sure to call her there when no other family members were home. The three others were present when the girl reached his place.

The boys allegedly gangrened the girl and recorded the incident on a mobile phone.

Sources at Malad Police Station said that the 12-minute video clip may have been circulated among several residents of the neighborhood where the accused and the victim lived, and the cops were trying to stop it from being circulated further. The boys were sent to a correctional home after being produced before a juvenile court, the NDTV reported on Friday.

The four have been charged under IPC Section 376 (G) for gang rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Although, the video was viral, the victim kept mum due to fear of shame. The girl, who hadn't told anyone about the gangrene, narrated the entire incident to her aunt.

It was only when she confronted her niece that the girl revealed her ordeal and she was encouraged to file a case. Her aunt immediately rushed to Malad police station and registered an FIR.
