Golden State Warriors Make NBA History With Win Over Los Angeles Lakers

The defending champs never trailed en route to their NBA-record 16th consecutive victory to start the season.

Reigning most valuable player Curry turned on the style as the extended their flawless start to 16 games, surpassing the previous best of 15-0 they had shared with the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and 1948-49 Washington Capitols. "They're in the history books". They're the most aesthetically pleasing team in the league, they have the NBA's most likable player right now and of all the teams who have been compared to Michael Jordan's Bulls, this one is actually deserving of the comparison.

If only it were that simple as the Warriors exceeded the 17-point spread that oddsmakers predicted.

Stephen Curry led the way with 24 points and nine assists as the Warriors made it 27 home wins in a row and left the struggling Lakers 2-12.

Kobe Bryant was limited to four points on 1-for-14 shooting to match the worst-shooting performance of his career in a game when he had at least one basket.

But what they're doing is also not anything any team can try to mimic and, in fact, I'd say that's the worst thing opponents can do.

"We feel like if we come ready to play every night, we should be in good shape". It got to me a little bit and frustrated me a little bit.

Don't forget about how well the Warriors shoot three-pointers.416 rate from beyond the arc leads the league and is better than four team's field goal percentages. His floating jumper stretched Chicago's lead to 78-65 early in the fourth quarter, but Portland rallied within 78-76 on Ed Davis' tip shot. "You're only a rookie once".

And now, even fans are playing better basketball than the Lakers. The Lakers recorded 10 assists after completing the first quarter with zero. But the Warriors responded immediately with Curry scoring seven points as part of an 11-0 run.

The Lakers outscored the Warriors in the second and cut the Warriors' lead to 14 points in the third. Williams allowed Curry an opening for an uncontested finger roll.

Draymond Green had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Leandro Barbosa (13 points) and Klay Thompson (11) had double-digits in points.

"But we also reminded them that it's November and we have a lot more work to do. To do it as well as we did tonight makes it even that much more special".

"It's probably better for us to come into a season after winning a championship and then being doubted once again".

Yet, Scott did not hold Bryant responsible for contributing to that poor ball movement.

"I think Draymond shocked everybody besides himself", said Richardson, Golden State's first-round pick taken fifth overall in the 2001 draft. Green scored 12 points in the quarter, hitting two 3-pointers, blocking two shots.

"Now we have to make sure we don't drop off and give a game away now just because we broke this record".

Bryant insisted he "felt fine" before acknowledging, "I got out my Zen" amid frustration with the Lakers' losing and execution.

"We really didn't talk about the record or anything until two games ago ..."
