Russia will not forget downing of jet by Turkey, Putin says

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agreed to talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on the sidelines of a conference in Belgrade after Putin on Monday snubbed Erdogan at the United Nations climate summit in Paris.

Russian President Vladimir Putin used his state of the nation speech on Thursday to threaten further reprisals against Turkey, as the clash continued to escalate between the two countries over the downing a Russian warplane and death of two Russian servicemen last month. Putin said in the speech that ISIS uses the profits to finance its attacks "in Lebanon, France and Mali".

"We shall remind them many a time what they have done and they will more than once feel regret what they have done". "And I guess Allah chose to punish the ruling clique in Turkey by stripping it of its sanity".

The ruthless leader also accused the country of buying oil from savage ISIS - a claim Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has vehemently denied.

Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited Qatar and Azerbaijan respectively this week to reach agreements on importing liquefied natural gas from Qatar and expediting the construction of a natural gas pipeline that carries Azerbaijan's gas in the Caspian Sea to Turkey and Europe. Allah knows why they did it (shoot down the Russian jet).

One of the plane's pilots was killed, while another was rescued. Both sides stuck to their previous positions, he said.

"We know for example who in Turkey fills their pockets and allows terrorists to make money from the stolen oil in Syria", Putin said".

US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said on Wednesday that Washington rejected the premise that the Turkish government was in league with the militants to smuggle oil, saying it saw no evidence to support such an accusation.

Mr Putin's view is shared by Muslim ally, the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, who said on social media: "Turkey is not fighting ISIS!"

"We will send them to the next world on a one-way ticket", Kadyrov said, according to Russian news agencies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called Turkey "accomplices of terrorists" and warned of "serious consequences". "This is a fight for freedom, truth and justice, for the lives of people and the future of the entire civilization", said Putin, addressing Russia's top officials during the televised event.

While Putin has repeatedly said that the Russian troops in Syria wouldn't engage in ground combat, the statement signaled a high degree of the Russian military's involvement in coordinating the Syrian army's action.

Russian Federation is carrying out a controversial military operation in Syria, which is officially directed against ISIL, but it has been accused of supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and targeting mostly moderate opposition groups in the country instead.
