Carson Down, Cruz Up in New Iowa Poll

No other candidate tops 2%.

The theoretical wins over Mrs. Clinton ranged from an 8-point spread for Sen.

Despite the dip, Carson led Rubio, who pulled-in 13 percent, U.S. Sen. "If they break that agreement with him, as they say 'woe be on them, '" Mr. Cohen said.

Other surveys have given Mrs. Clinton the edge on national security.

As Trump continues to dominate the GOP primary in virtually every poll, Cohen issued a warning to the Republican Party over trying to go after Trump.

Mr. Carson lost ground in both Iowa and New Hampshire, according to a CBS/YouGov poll released Monday.

Only five percent said Carson would be the top candidate to deal with terrorism. Enlarge John Locher/AP In last month's Quinnipiac poll in Iowa, Dr. Ben Carson led the field with 28% support.

A spokeswoman did not respond to a request for clarification Saturday about Trump's comments. "I watched people jumping off the buildings", Trump said. Reporter: But the newspaper now claiming the allegations were never proven.

The billionaire businessman broke into the lead in Iowa with 30 percent of the vote among likely Republican caucusgoers, and Mr. Carson tumbled to third place with 19 percent, and Sen. The margin of error was plus or minus four percentage points.

Trump also doubled down on his unproven claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

White, born-again Christians also preferred Cruz over Trump and Carson, with the Texas senator earning 27 percent to Carson's 24 percent and Trump's 20 percent, notes Politico.

In a presidential race where the old tropes of politics don't seem to apply, Carson's quirky statements and the lack of clarity about his positions on key issues didn't seem to have harmed his candidacy as he cruised atop the GOP polls, vying for first place with Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said that if Republican donors backing different presidential candidates come together for an anti-Trump advertising campaign, it would be a "bad, bad decision".

"The recent attacks in Paris remind us that our country is in need more than ever of a leader who is qualified and experienced to understand and lead our military", said Tom Moe, who was a prisoner of war with Sen. "If there are multiple reports and indications that radicalization is going on there, we shouldn't just turn a blind eye to that". Trump said this prediction was made in one of his books and his foresight was recently pointed out by a "very political" friend. Trump told the crowd he predicted the threat of bin Laden in one of his books, published more than a year before the 9/11 attacks.
