Tiger Woods Calls Elin Nordegren 'One of My Best Friends'

The couple's divorce was finalised in 2010. To watch my kids play sports and to grow up and participate and even teach them how to become better, oh my God, it gives me so much joy.

The pro golfer's life came to a crashing halt-literally-in 2009 when he and then-wife Elin Nordegren were in a vehicle accident. She says, "Again?" I say, "Yes, again, Sam. Can you please go get those guys?" Woods said he would rather not risk more back surgery, having spoken with National Football League star quarterback Peyton Manning about his neck surgery and recovery methods. Woods said.

Woods' comments have led to speculation that his glittering career may be coming to an end, but he has received words of support from world No 3 McIlroy.

At this point, Tiger is now the 400th ranked player in the world, and hasn't won a major championship since the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

Woods said he hoped to enlighten the children about the sensitive past "before they get to the Internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something ... I really do miss it". He said that he thinks he can help him to adapt his golf swing to get the stress off his back so he can continue his golfing career. We'd hit balls and then he'd show me short game, for hours. It is also good that Woods is at peace with where his career is right now and that there is a real possibility that it is over.

In a rare media interview interview for Time magazine, Woods opened up to Canadian golf author Lorne Rubinstein about myriad issues, including his relationship with his ex-wife, his relationship with ex-girlfriend Lindsay Vonn and how he feels about chasing Jack Nicklaus' records.

"I've had three surgeries on the same spot and I haven't started any type of rehab", he added. He doesn't like watching golf.

He previously suffered a serious knee ligament injury, but his back problem is proving particularly hard psychologically.
