Scott Weiland found dead at 48

Another tragedy has occurred in the shadow of Scott Weiland's death.

He did not provide further details but referenced a statement on Weiland's .

"Detectives collected several items of evidence from inside the tour bus, [including] a small quantity of suspected controlled substance that field-tested positive as cocaine, in the bedroom where Mr. Weiland was located", the Bloomington Police Department in Minnesota said in a statement today, according to the L.A. Times.

Days before his death, Weiland was reported to have relapsed into crack cocaine use and heavy drinking. No cause of death has yet been released.

TMZ has obtained a copy of the search warrant cops that Minnesota cops used to search the tour bus in which Scott Weiland died, and describe the cops' discoveries as a "pharmacy on wheels".

He is survived by his wife Jamie Watchel and two children from his previous marriage to Mary Forsberg. "I've two kids, but if I'm going to commit, say, the next 10 years of my life to touring, to whatever extend that is, then I want to do it with people I want to make music with".

Weiland, best known as a prominent voice in 1990s grunge rock, had also performed with rock supergroup Velvet Revolver. Among that group's hits was Fall to Pieces. In 2008, Stone Temple Pilots reformed but five years later Weiland was sacked from the group and was replaced by Chester Bennington, formerly of Linkin Park.

Weiland had a long string of drug- and alcohol-related arrests and stints in rehab.

Together with brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo and Erik Kretz, Weiland formed the rock band Stone Temple Pilots in San Diego.

In 1995, he was arrested after deputies found him carrying crack and heroin and he pleaded guilty to felony heroin possession in 1998.
