Adobe courts iPad Pro snappers with latest Lightroom update

Adobe Post is another of the company's iPhone-first apps, similar to Voice and Slate for the iPad, in what they refer to as a "storytelling" suite. In this release, we optimized the app to work on an iPad Pro and to also support the multitasking functionality new in iOS 9. For instance, passengers can now use the apps to select and change seat assignments after check-in, upgrade to Even More Space seats, and use their smartphone's camera to input credit card and passport information. It also adds a sophisticated Point Curve mode to the Tone Curve and Split Toning tools.

Lightroom Mobile is essentially a tablet-based browsing and editing app, so it would have been easy to miss the appearance of the camera function in Lightroom 2. With Lightroom for iOS 2.1, you can use 3D touch on the home screen to open the camera directly or in the collection view to Peek and Pop an image, to quickly check which image you'd like to edit before moving into the Loupe view.

Projects can be saved after they're created and reused or tweaked for future use. The look is non-destructive, meaning you can remove the preset from the photo afterward if you don't like it.

We're excited to announce an update to Lightroom for iOS just in time for the holidays! Hopefully more will follow.

Lightroom for mobile has been around for a little while now.

The only disappointment is that you don't get the full range of Lightroom presets to shoot with. But it is a start, and hopefully Adobe will add a lot more, because this is a great way to shoot. Unfortunately, you can't change the text size independently from the background or change letter spacing, and you only have three line-spacing choices: very tight, very loose or normal.
