Paul McCartney Joins Bruce Springsteen on 'SNL' Stage

To close out the show, Springsteen and the Band brought out Paul McCartney to play a rendition of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" with Fey, Poehler, and the "SNL" cast, as Rolling Stone notes.

The return of two former "Saturday Night Live" stalwarts, plus a big-time musical guest, helped the show score its second-best overnight ratings of the season. Ditto Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton. So, when Fey and Poehler returned to Studio 8H to host SNL on Saturday, it only made sense that Rudolph would stop by to make an appearance.

The best sketch of the night was "Meet Your Second Wife", in which youngish married men met there future wives- children, who, in 20 years they would marry. The other major sketch highlight was the Taylor Swift "Bad Blood" video parody Dope Squad, which also included a cameo by Amy Schumer. We did enjoy Colin Jost's digs at Martin Shkreli though. Paul McCartney showed up to shake some sleigh bells and not do a whole lot else.

Prior to that, Springsteen and the E Street Band performed "Meet Me in the City", an outtake from 1980's The River, and "The Ties That Band", the song that opened that album.

In more SNL news, Adam Driver has been announced as the first host of 2016.
