Some flights cancelled at airports in Dallas area due to weather

Fliers faced a second consecutive day of flight delays and cancellations on Monday.

Southwest Florida may have dodged the immediate effects of a recent storm raging across the United States but flights at Southwest Florida International Airport are being canceled and delayed.

"We're trying to get to Chicago O'Hare and it looks like there's an ice storm going on there right now so hopefully we'll get out today", Reardon said.

The National Weather Service said rain chances will increase across Alabama late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

On Sunday, U.S. airlines delayed 6,406 flights, including 784 by American and 1,376 by Southwest, according to FlightAware data.
