Warriors vs Cavs recap: Was it revenge? No it was not

Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry (30) dribbles past Cleveland Cavaliers' Matthew Dellavedova during the second half of an NBA basketball game Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, in Oakland, Calif. Golden State won 89-83.

During the broadcast of Friday's 2015 NBA Finals rematch between the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers on ABC, Jackson discussed the way he believes Curry is hindering the development of aspiring ballers. "And what I mean by that is I go into these high school gyms, I watch these kids and the first thing they do is run to the three-point line".

Draymond Green finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors, with Steph Curry adding 19 points, and Klay Thompson 18. "It wasn't going right for us - Chris had it going to keep us afloat - but at the end I think it just came down to getting some great stops and we got some timely buckets". That's not why he's the MVP. LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird were the other three. I'd argue that, if you understand what makes Curry great, he is just about the best possible player for kids to look up to. "And you can quote me on that".

And when it mattered most, Curry was Curry, scoring four big points on back-to-back baskets to maintain a two-possession lead over the Cavs (19-8).

That's about all Curry is unable to do on the basketball court.

The game set local-market records for a regular-season game in both the Bay Area (14.2) and Cleveland (16.0). Too many times during the game, especially when the margin was close, the Cavaliers chose to play "iso" rather than draw screens for better shots.

Another valid point to make about the Cavaliers looking on the bright side is that Irving on the bench for the crucial minutes of the game. "You can work on that stuff".

Warriors interim coach Luke Walton said after the win against the Cavaliers that Curry was scheduled to receive treatment and that he would have not a problem resting the reigning MVP if more time was needed for the calf to heal.

"Everyone can't be Steph, but the want can give them more drive and determination", Olivier said. He is what happens when an exceptional shooter plays in a league that prioritizes shooting from both a strategic and rules standpoint. During Curry's college career at Davidson, James helped mentor him. "We obviously battle on the same court now". While that may be true, my counter is that practicing shooting and practicing other facets of the game are not mutually exclusive. If they do, Curry's legend will only grow. Jackson coached Curry for three years in Golden State, so one would think he has a pretty good understanding of his game and just how revolutionary Curry's skills truly are.
