One Direction's Liam & Louis say that Zayn leaving was a 'not

Earlier this year, it was of course announced that Zayn Malik had QUIT One Direction, and it sent both One Direction and their fans into a bit of a meltdown.

In an interview with Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Liam Payne got pretty honest about why he thought Z felt it necessary to part ways with hisbros.

"You're kind of counting down the shows now, thinking there's not many left, so you're really appreciating every moment, not that it's the end".

By now, Directioners are well aware that Zayn Malik wasn't happy with the type of music that One Direction is making, and now Liam Payne admits that 1D was never really the Bradford Bad Boy's style.

He added: "There's no doubt we'll see plenty of each other, we're gonna plan to go on a little lads' holiday".

Louis - who's expecting his first child with LA-based stylist Briana Jungwirth - said: 'It was one of those things that after every tour we'd have a little sit down, have a little chat, and it was kind of just numerous amounts of conversations like that really.

The boys haven't said yet how long their break will last, saying they don't want to put a time limit on it because then they'll feel under pressure and the whole point of the break is to chill out and unwind.

In August the band hit the headlines over rumours about their future - shocking millions of devoted fans.

It came after a report in The Sun that the pop stars are set to go their separate ways in March. It will be the band's final album before they embark on a hiatus once their On The Road Again world tour concludes on 31 October.

Ideal will be released worldwide on Friday, with their fifth studio album following on Friday November 13.
