In honor of Back to the Future Day, "BTTF" star Michael J. Fox helped the company debut its new creation, the Nike MAG, the proceeds of which will go to a good cause.

The Nike Mag shoes features an innovation called "power laces", which combines the archetype invention with digital technology.

This is real. This is today.

The shoe's first, and most celebrated wearer, Fox received a pair of the next-gen sneakers this week, which he (video above). It was the date Marty McFly travels to the future in the sequel to the original Back to the Future movie.

Nike did produce one pair of the shoe and sent it to Fox Wednesday.

Fox later had a sit-down with Kimmel to talk about Marty action figure and making "Back to the Future".

"We hope that the combined effort will raise even more than the $9.4 million collected in 2011 and contribute in a few way to eliminating Parkinson's disease in our lifetime", said Nike's Tinker Hatfield, who originally designed the shoes for the 1989 film. However, fans who cannot wait can bid for Fox's pair, because it will be auctioned off to benefit , according to Engadget.

When Marty and Emmett "Doc" Brown first appeared on screen in 1985's Back to the Future, the duo won over legions of fans with their time-travelling adventures.

"If you don't mind me asking, what the hell have you guys been doing for 30 years?". The arrival of Michael J. Fox as Marty Macfly gave me goosebumps. Like the shoes in the movies, you can slip the Mags on your feet and then they'll tighten up around your feet when you press a button on the side.
