Video from NBC Reveals Anti-ISIS Raid; American Commando Killed — ISIS News

The men are barefoot, majority wearing long robes, a few with large stains.

New video from the regional government of Iraqi Kurdistan reportedly shows the USA raid on an ISIS compound in Iraq.

The raid to free captives held by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is bringing up uncomfortable questions for the Obama administration. The video, obtained from news station Arab 24, has been authenticated, said the official.

It was filmed from the helmet camera of one of the Kurdish soldiers, whose gun can be seen pointing at a barred window through which a glow is emanating, possibly from a fire. They walk through one room with an ISIS flag hanging on the wall.

The hostages were led to six helicopters waiting outside the prison.

Finally, the soldiers pat down a row of men and file them in a line. Listen for the American voices. "We got more coming".

The daring raid on the makeshift terrorist prison, a joint operation between US Delta Force and Kurdish forces, happened on Thursday in Hawija, 15km west of the city of Kirkuk, The Guardian reports.

70 Islamic State hostages have been spared a potentially horrific death after being rescued by US Special Forces. Wheeler was shot inside the compound, badly injured and flown to Irbil, where he died, according to the official. They included 22 members of the Iraqi security forces and the rest were Iraqi civilians.

USA officials have said the decisions were made quickly because time was believed to have been running out for the hostages.

The government of Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region on Sunday released footage it said was of the brazen commando operation it carried out with elite U.S. troops at a jihadist-run prison.
