Fox has major technical difficulties during World Series

Cairo native Cody Rogers has been a Mets fan for life.

Edinson Volquez, an 11-year veteran, took the mound as scheduled for his World Series debut.

The World Series opener was delayed for about 7 minutes with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning when Fox's video feed failed, causing both teams to lose access to their replay rooms.

The elder Volquez, a mechanic in the Dominican Republic, introduced his son to the game when he was about 10 years old. He entered Game 1 of the World Series with a 2-1 record and 4.15 ERA over four starts this postseason. She - unlike other Royals fans I know - actually got to enjoy most of the first KC heyday in the 70s and 80s and was in college at Baker University in nearby Baldwin City, Kansas, when the Royals won it all, completely without controversy, over the hapless St. Louis Cardinals in 1985. The Royals were in the same position a year ago. Curtis Granderson is returning to the series after playing with Detroit in 2006. Jeurys Familia is their closer and he's been real good this season, so look out if he gets into the game.

Mule Haas of the Philadelphia Athletics in 1929 had the last inside-the-park homer in a World Series game before Escobar.

The tarp is off the field at Kauffman Stadium, and the Royals and Mets are starting to warm up for a dreary Game 1 of the World Series.

"To find a way to grind that way out against a great team... and to win it in the 14th inning was big".

Kansas City needed six games to take down the Blue Jays and Game 6 went down to the final out as the Blue Jays had a chance to tie or take the lead late. The game is now being broadcast again, except for those Google Fiber subscribers who are unfortunate enough to live in Kansas City. "And I said no", Mets manager Terry Collins said in his pregame press conference.

Every game can be heard on the Royals Radio Network (610 Sports in KC) with Royals Hall of Famer/2007 Ford C. Frick Award victor Denny Matthews who's joined in the booth by Lefebvre, Steve Physioc and Steve Stewart.

We found people from several states who made the drive to Kansas City, a few people in the parking lot don't even have tickets.

ESPN Radio's national broadcast will include Dan Shulman and Aaron Boone.
