Gran Turismo sport announced, beta in early 2016

Majority of those who were present during the announcement were not disappointed at all and a few of their expectations were even exceeded with the announcement of the VR-compatible game.

This will be a historic moment, the first time a video game will officially be recognized as part of the real motoring world. The basis for that is a partnership between game developer Polyphony Digital and the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body that hosts a number of racing events globally, including the Formula One (F1) World Championship.

From the sounds of things, GT Sport will still pack a few content but it's certainly not Gran Turismo 7.

It's not the Gran Turismo 7 that racing game petrol-heads have been waiting for, but at least Gran Turismo Sport is something.

The announcement was made by Polyphony CEO Kazunori Yamauchi and SCEE CEO and President Jim Ryan during the Paris Games Week PlayStation Press Conference.

Much more focus with Gran Turismo Sport seems to be on the online racing side of the game.

According to the Latino Post, characters such as Claudio, Gigas, Josie, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, and Shaheen are among the other new fighters being introduced to the "Tekken 7" roster, and those additions will help to add possibly new and exciting elements that players may not have been able to experience before. In Nations Cup, players will be able to represent their own countries.

The victor of the championship will be awarded at the FIA prize giving ceremony, alongside real life motorsports champions.

The game will also be heading to PlayStation VR, though not many details have been revealed yet but if it's getting a virtual reality version, it could only imply that Sony is determined to give fans an immersive gaming experience. GT Sport will be released on the PS4 exclusively in 2016. That means the game can remain fresh for longer too, as online events don't usually get repetitive after a while.
