Kennesaw State travels to the Bayou to take on LSU

Playing in his first game after sitting out the opener as a suspension, Gray logged 22 minutes and made the absolute a lot of them with the Tigers also got big nights from senior Josh Gray 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.

"I really don't know what to expect from them (LC) with it being a new coach and a new season", said Simmons.

Kendrick Ray sat out last season for Kennesaw after transferring from Quinnipiac.

"I realized I only took seven shots last game and I was shocked about that", Simmons said.

Blakeney pumped in a 3-pointer from the left corner on a feed from Gray to ignite the prolonged 28-4 run, punctuated by nine consecutive points at the start and then a 15-0 answer after an Owls' bucket ended their drought at the 9:48 juncture.

"I just want to win, so I'm going to do anything out there to win".

The Tigers led by as many as 25 in the first half at 44-19 on a dunk by Simmons with 25 seconds to go in the period.

Simmons led LSU in the first half with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding three assists, two rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot as the Tigers took a 44-21 lead.

"As the game went on, we were able to wear them down a little bit. We have 10-11 guys that can play and make contributions".

Australian teenager Ben Simmons has again lived up to his billing as U.S. college basketball's best player and the expected No. 1 pick in next year's NBA Draft. The Owls didn't score again until Ray made two free throws with 2:27 before halftime.

"We didn't execute well in the first half and we got rattled", Kennesaw coach Al Skinner said. But, the Owls would come no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

In just his second college game, Simmons displayed his extraordinary allround talent as he led Louisiana State University to 91-69 victory over Georgia's Kennesaw State on Monday. "We can't afford to get as distracted as we did".

Kennesaw State: Yonel Brown, who scored 34 points in the Owls' season-opener against Alabama, was held to 11 points.

The 6-foot-9 Saiz scored 13 points in the first half to help the Rebels push out to a 46-35 lead. Gray scored 14 points after halftime, drained 2-of-3 3-point shots, yanked down 4 defensive boards and assisted three buckets.

LSU made only half its free throw attempts (16 of 32) against McNeese.

LSU: Monday's game was the 100th for Johnny Jones as Tigers coach.

LSU (2-0) will play another regional game Thursday night against South Alabama before joining Marquette, Arizona State and North Carolina State at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the championship round starting Monday.
