Bill Cosby might not get deposed in Janice Dickinson lawsuit after all

Meanwhile, four more accusers are seeking to join another defamation suit against Cosby in federal court in MA (where Cosby lives), filed past year by three accusers. Instead, a lawyer for three already named plaintiffs in the lawsuit filed a notice saying four new plaintiffs will be added.

Tarshis, 67, claims Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her backstage on the set of "The Cosby Show" in 1979.

Drexel University president John A. Fry said Thursday in a letter addressed to the Philadelphia-based school's community, "The misconduct by Bill Cosby that came to light through his sworn deposition testimony stands in clear opposition to Drexel's values".

"There's no reason that any of the victims of this situation should have to live with a scarlet letter in their lives", Bowman, an Arizona resident, said in a conference call Friday.

Cosby, 78, has strenuously denied allegations of rape and sexual assault brought against him by a number of women and at the time Cosby's lawyers told TMZ: "We've reached a point of absurdity".

Therese Serignese says she was exposed to similar ridicule after coming forward and alleging Cosby assault her at a party in 1967 when she was just 19.

As a result, Dickinson has sued Cosby for defamation, claiming Cosby criticized her account "with the intent and effect of re-victimizing her and destroying the professional reputation she's spent decades building".

Dickinson has alleged that Cosby drugged and raped her in a Lake Tahoe, California, and hotel room in 1982. On Thursday, however, a 2nd District Court of Appeal put them on ice, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Cosby sought to dismiss the lawsuits and contended that the insurer was reading the policy wrong and that its actions threatened his defense against his primary accusers.

Joseph Cammarata, who represents the women, said all seven believe Cosby defamed them when his representatives - including the comedian's longtime attorney, Martin Singer, who he recently fired - issued public statements in 2014 denouncing their stories as absurd and untrue.
