Justin Theroux Explains How Honeymoon With Jennifer Aniston Almost Killed Him

The Leftovers actor revealed to Live with Kelly and Michael how he and some of his friends (yeah, they took friends on their honeymoon - it's 2015 anything goes) headed out on a boat to go diving and look at "pretty fish".

The 44-year-old Hollywood hunk said that not knowing the lingo was mostly to blame for his close call, but his sudden brush with death has left him a little shaken. "I was telling him, 'I've only done this once'".

Anyone hoping Theroux's throwback pic would reveal a dorky-looking teen yet to mature into his leading man looks will be sorely disappointed as the actor looks handsome as ever in the grainy pic.

Asked if he's been scuba diving since, Theroux has a one-word answer: "No".

Theroux said the instructor put an oxygen tank on him that had already been used, and not long after diving in the water he noticed that his tank was on red and he was running out of oxygen.

Unfortunately the scuba instructor in charge of the outing didn't speak much English meaning there was a bit of a language barrier.

Theroux said he tried to remain calm and swam to the instructor to let him know that he needed help but the instructor brushed him off and told him to keep swimming with the group. "I look at my [oxygen gauge] and it's on red".

"He just keeps swimming away from me", Theroux said.

Us Weekly broke the news that Theroux, 44, and the Friends alum, 46, secretly tied the knot at their lavish L.A. mansion on August 5.

When Theroux swam over to his instructor a second time, he finally realised the inherit danger the actor was in and quickly attached Theroux to his emergency respirator.

According to Justin Theroux, he couldn't understand why the instructor was doing that, "when earth is up there", and as it turned out, the actions of the instructor actually made the situation worse.

Justin then began "coughing and hacking underwater" as water rushed down his throat.

'Your brain goes into a insane place, ' he said, adding that he thought, 'Oh my God, this is some plot to kill me'. Watch the interview with Theroux in the video included below.
