Queen hosts Buckingham Palace Christmas lunch

Adorable George was the star of the family's Christmas photos in 2014, but it is likely that this year he will star alongside his baby sister in the first photos of them together since Princess Charlotte's christening in July.

Prince Harry was seen stepping in for his brother (did someone say prince charming!) to escort Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to their family's annual Christmas gathering.

The duchess, whose husband Prince William educated as a helicopter pilot with the RAF, was introduced with a replica of Horizons, the historical past of the air cadets.

The family will be spending Christmas this year in their country home Anmer Hall on the Queen's Sandringham Estate and are expected to be joined by the Middletons for Charlotte's first Christmas after William and Kate attend church with the royals. Prince Edward drove himself to the palace while Canadian Autumn Kelly, the wife of Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips, was also spotted making her entrance at the dinner.

Other guests in attendance included the Prince of Wales, former England rugby player Mike Tindall and wife Zara Phillips and Princess Eugenie.

The Queen travelled on a standard class ticket alongside commuters as she and the Duke of Edinburgh arrived in Norfolk for their Christmas break.

Prince Harry arrives for the Queen's Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, London. The occasion was graced by all the senior members of the Royal Family, with the exception of The Duke of Cambridge, who had to excuse himself due to prior commitments. "If I get any sleep in Christmas Eve it will be good", William joked. "So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging", he said. "But I'm looking forward to it".

Prince George exuded royal cuteness, when he was photographed on his way to Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
