Former Longhorn Vince Young arrested on DWI charge

TMZ reports that the arrest took place in Austin, Texas this morning, and as of the time of this writing, the former Texas Longhorn star is now still in lock-up. He has appeared before a Travis County judge, who set his bail at $2,000. On the upper deck at the 3500 block of I-35 the affidavit states Young continued to weave in lanes at 68 miles per hour with his left tires on the solid yellow line. He was stopped and given a field sobriety test. According to police, Young admitted to drinking three or four beers earlier in the night.

The affidavit states that Young was not cooperative with the arresting officer but remained polite during the traffic stop. Fresh from a Rose Bowl performance for the ages, Young rocketed to the No. 3 spot in the draft and landed with the Titans.

However, his career derailed after the 2007 season, and he played in just 30 more games from 2008-11.

Young is a UT employee working as a diversity and community engagement officer in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. The former National Football League quarterback works to raise money for DDCE programs which target first-generation and low-income college students.
