And the Winner of the 2016 WWE Royal Rumble Match Is…

There will be many twists and turns along the way no doubt, but the Road to WrestleMania has officially begun.

This fight had been scheduled for quite some time and most fans think that it's going to happen eventually.

RAW should be fun Monday night.

Despite any pessimism, the Rumble every year does have potential to be great.

Here are predictions for Sunday's show.

Most signs point towards a possible bout with Brock Lesner, but the way Wyatt and his crew have been built up, don't be too shocked if Wyatt walks out with the title. New Day retained the championship after countering a top rope splash attempt into The Big Ending. The tag team division is a wasteland. They give the title back to Del Rio on the following Smackdown. Sheamus held the title a few months ago, so he wouldn't be totally out of place, but he's not over.

Ah, so here we are. It's hard to see Owens getting back the championship right now because the WWE might have bigger plans for him at WrestleMania. It doesn't make any sense why the WWE is trying to make Reigns John Cena-light but they're hell bent on it. "Reigns" storyline with the McMahon family and the evil "Authority" has, for the most part, worked. The other person who will last a long time will be Reigns, who enters at No. 1. This did not hurt the Royal Rumble, but it would have certainly been awesome to see Diamond Dallas Page come out rather than Jack Swagger. However, everything was surpassed as Triple H eliminated Roman Reigns in the Rumble match. Sheamus was punched out of the Rumble by Reigns but then Triple H would then surprise everyone and eliminate the former champion.

This is Triple H's second Rumble win. After having Sami Zayn return and eliminate Owens at the Royal Rumble on Sunday, it would seem that WWE is angling towards the former best friends re-igniting their rivalry at WrestleMania 32.

-Daniel Bryan returns-I don't buy that he hasn't been cleared to wrestle again. The crowd reaction might cause the foundation to shake. It was a thing of beauty to see AJ finally make his debut in a WWE ring.

In other title matches on Sunday night: Kalisto reclaimed the United States Championship from Alberto Del Rio and Charlotte kept her Divas title after her dad tried to make out with Becky Lynch as a means of distracting her. It was gross. He's obviously gearing up for another WrestleMania.

Unless there's some huge surprise entrant - like an AJ Styles - then this match will be as boring as last year's Rumble was. The biggest stipulation of the 2016 Royal Rumble is that Roman Reigns will have to defend his title against 29 other guys.
