11 killed, 23 injured in Quetta blast

According to local media reports, the explosion took place when a local bus carrying at least 40 passengers crossed the area.

The explosion has at least 23 others injured.

Security forces reached the spot and started shifting the injured to hospital.

"It was meant to cause maximum damage and casualties as this is the last bus to leave the terminal everyday", Khan said.

"Later an injured person died in hospital".

Most of the wounded people were in a critical condition, a police official said, reported Geo News.

The bomb disposal squad also arrived at the site and stared collecting evidences. "Most likely it was a time device", he told AFP.

The province, particularly capital Quetta, has also faced a deadly wave of sectarian violence for the past 10 years.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said the passengers were not pilgrims, who have always been targeted in militant attacks in the past.

Police surgeon Dr Noor Baloch told PTI over telephone that most of the deceased were sitting in the back seats or on the roof of the bus and were killed immediately.
